Check here whether your file will work. Search by extension or name, or pick a field on the left.

How to read the table

  • "To SVG" means the file can be converted into SVG pages.
  • "From SVG" means SVG pages can be turned back into that kind of file.
  • A, B and C show how closely the result matches the original. A dash means that direction isn't supported.
  • Some formats are shown as a summary of their contents (for example page or item counts) rather than a full drawing. The description on each row says which.

How closely it matches

A
Faithful: drawn straight from the file's own contents. Nothing is guessed.
B
Traced: outlines are traced from pixels, so shapes are close but not exact.
C
Rebuilt: structure such as tables or connections is inferred from the drawing. Check the result.

ExtensionsTo SVGFrom SVGWhat you get
.pdfAAEvaluates PDF vector content and annotation appearance streams page by page. Missing FreeText, text-widget, and choice-widget appearances use bounded Contents/V plus DA fallbacks; choice exports map through Opt, checkbox/radio widgets get simple state marks, and password values are masked. Simple grayscale/RGB/CalGray/CalRGB JPX images are decoded to PNG, preserving embedded alpha for `SMaskInData=1`, unblending preblended `=2` samples when a DeviceGray/DeviceRGB/CalGray/CalRGB `/Matte` is present, and applying bounded simple external grayscale soft masks. Explicit masks, unsupported matte/color spaces, and other JPX features warn; PDF-level masks may be lost when raw JPEG 2000 data is retained. Layout is approximate. Optional `--outline-embedded-pdf-text` outlines embedded fonts.
.fdfAAdobe Forms Data Format uses the PDF object/xref grammar for form data. Fully-qualified field hierarchy, types, safe values, password masking, choice-option counts and action/attachment counts render as bounded rows. JavaScript, submit/launch actions, file specifications, embedded files and external URLs are omitted or redacted; no form submission or PDF page rendering runs. Limits: 64 MiB input, 500,000 objects, depth 64, 100,000 fields, 2 MiB/value and 32 MiB total values. Source: Adobe FDF reference (https://opensource.adobe.com/dc-acrobat-sdk-docs/pdfstandards/pdfreference1.2.pdf).

Microsoft Project XML (.xml namespace .mspdi)ARecognizes the Microsoft Project XML interchange namespace and renders a bounded Gantt preview with task hierarchy, explicit Start/Finish dates, progress, summary bars, milestones, and simple predecessor arrows. Advisory B bounds do not drive allocation; formatting and other metadata records are ignored with a warning.
.difADIF / Data Interchange Format spreadsheet tables. TABLE, VECTORS, TUPLES, DATA headers and BOT/EOD tuples with numeric, string, boolean, NA and ERROR values render as bounded tables. Formulas and metadata remain inert; advisory dimensions do not drive unbounded allocation.
.doc .dot (CFB Word binary)CReads the main story from Word 97–2007 CFB documents/templates using the FIB and simple text or CLX piece table. UTF-16 and common compressed code pages are supported; unknown code pages warn and fall back to Windows-1252. Text is flowed onto A4 pages; tables flatten to cell-separated text. Original formatting, pagination, images, headers/footnotes, and embedded objects are omitted. Encrypted documents are rejected; macros are never run. `.dot` is treated as Word only when CFB/FIB signatures match, preserving Graphviz `.dot` routing.

.mht .mhtmlARFC 2557 MIME web archives — honors RFC 2387's multipart/related start root (or the first part when absent) and typesets its HTML using the safe subset. Bounded PNG/JPEG parts referenced by Content-ID or URI-resolved Content-Location in the same or an enclosing related tree are embedded; when src is absent, HTML srcset uses its first candidate. Relative references use HTML <base href>, MIME Content-Base/Content-Location ancestry, then thismessage:/ as the default base; CSS, scripts, unmatched resources and other attachments are omitted, and no external resources are fetched.
.xps .oxps .dwfxAOPC fixed-page documents and Autodesk DWFx (XPS-compatible) packages. Reads document/page order, solid-color vector Paths, Canvas transforms/opacity, Unicode Glyphs, and embedded PNG/JPEG ImageBrushes clipped to Path bounds. Embedded fonts, exact glyph advances, gradient/resource brushes, crop/viewport mappings, and classic DWF payloads have explicit fallback or omission warnings.
.html .htmAASemantic multi-page HTML typesetter — headings, paragraphs, lists, code blocks, tables, and CJK line-breaking rules (Kinsoku Shori). Relative same-directory-tree PNG/JPEG img references are embedded as centered flow blocks; when src is absent, srcset uses its first candidate. The origin is a valid coordinate; scanner pose/grid order is unavailable. Deterministic sampling caps output at 200,000 points.
.ptxALeica PTX ASCII point clouds can contain multiple structured scans.
